* Let’s begin... ^___^
Until November the 20th, release date of the first book, every 3 days, I’m going to show you sort of teasers about the new MÉTAMORPHOSE COLLECTION that I created and I run at Editions Soleil, together with Clotilde Vu.

I’m going to explain you, little by little, how this new Collection and its wonderful projects were born, and why.
Where should I begin from, then?
From the official logo. ^ ___^
You can’t imagine how many people I got in touch with in order to create it. I tried to think about it myself, in vain; since I was neck-deep into it, I couldn’t be objective. An external point of view was definitely required.
And so it was…

Metamorphosis... But what’s that?
The becoming. The changing. The constant mutation of things. In fact, life’s plot, until death.
And beyond...
We are the metamorphosis.


* Et voilà..ca commence...
Jusqu’au 20 novembre , date de sortie du premier livre , tous les trois jours , vous pourrez suivre un vrai teasing concernant la nouvelle COLLECTION MÉTAMORPHOSE , que j’ai créé aux éditions Soleil et que je dirige aux côtés de Clotilde Vu.

Petit à petit , je vous dirai comment cette collection est née , ainsi que le pourquoi de cette nouvelle collection , et vous parlerai des projets magnifiques qui en font partis.Donc...Par où commencer?...
Par le logo officiel, non? ^____^
Si vous saviez combien de personnes j’ai dû contacter pour le réaliser... J’ai moi même essayé , en vain de le penser , mais étant trop en immersion dans la collection , je n’étais pas la plus objective pour pouvoir y parvenir de manière juste.Il fallait à tout prix un point de vue externe.Et c’est ce qu’il s’est fait.

Qu’est-ce que la métamorphose?
Le devenir.Le changement.La continuelle mutation des choses.Toute la trame de la vie , jusqu’à l’arrivée de la mort.
Nous sommes la métamorphose.

* And in order to represent this concept in one logo, the main idea was to borrow some elements representative of metamorphosis from art and history. The most prolific periods from which I drew the symbologies were the Greco-Roman one, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Mannerism (all linked by the use of the grotesques inspired by Domus Aurea).
However, the Collection is closer to a Victorian, fin du siècle spirit… So I opted for some Edwardian engravings or illustrations…
Finally I was on the right track. And I tried to integrate it also with the aesthetics of the Cabinets of Curiosities, which I’m an admirer of.


*Afin de pouvoir représenter ceci en un seul logo, l’idée principale était de récupérer des éléments dans le domaine de l’art ainsi que dans notre propre histoire , des éléments pouvant interpréter la métamorphose.
La période la plus prolifique ou “pêcher” toutes ces symboliques était la période Romaine , Grecque , Médiévale , celle de la Renaissance , et du Maniérisme (les “grotesques” inspirés de Domus Aurea).
Mais la collection se rapproche plus d’un esprit victorien fin de siècle...
Voilà pourquoi j’ai opté pour des illustrations ou des gravures “Edwardiennes” , en cherchant de les intégrer également à l’esthétisme du “Cabinets de curiosités” dont je suis profondément admirative....
Nous étions sur la bonne voie.

* The definitive logo was made on commission by the great Dan Hillier ,an amazing american illustrator who worked in the fiction field also with Neil Gaiman.
I got in touch with him with a bit of awe, but he took up the challenge with great pleasure and I must say that today I’m enthusiastic about this logo and about this new contact in my life. A true discover.

As you can see there are the main elements of Nature: animal, human and plant kingdoms.

We used the latter element in a second logo...Oh yeah, I’ve even got two!:)
Which we’re going to use mainly for advertising and to decorate books and posters.

The small logo is the official one, the one that will be printed on books.

I hope you like it....


* Le logo défintif a donc été fait sur commande par le grand Dan Hillier , un illustrateur américain incroyable qui a travaillé avec Neil Gaiman.
C’est avec une petite appréhension que je me suis décidé à le contacter , mais c’est avec un grand plaisir qu’il a décidé de relever le défi , et je dois dire aujourd’hui , que je suis très enthousiaste du résultat ,et de ce contact avec Dan Hillier , une vraie découverte , une belle expérience.

Comme vous pouvez le constater , il est composé des éléments principaux de la nature : l’animal , l’humain et le végétal.
Ce dernier sera un élément complémentaire pour un second logo..Et oui il y en a bien deux! ;)

Une autre version que nous utiliserons pour des publicités , pour orner des livres ou des affiches.
Le “petit” logo lui , représente la version officielle qui sera présente sur chaque livre.

* Concerning texts and fonts, who’s better than the graphic designer who worked on "Sambre" of Yslaire et Y.Balac ?
So I completely relied on the great Didier Gonord to integrate the writing with Dan Hillier’s drawing.
And I must say that they are a perfect couple, don’t they? ^ __^

You can’t imagine how many briefings I made for this, and how much we all worked together to get it. I therefore thank all the artists who helped me, first of all Matteo De Longis , Jean Luc Deglin, Guillaume Bianco , Anna Merli, Joshua Middleton, and Ausonia.



I’ll get back to you in 3 days, for the first images and the first projects!



*Concernant la typographie , qui donc pouvait mieux la réaliser que le graphiste ayant travaillé sur “Sambre” par Yslaire et Y.Balac?
C’est ainsi que je m’en suis remise au talent du grand Didier Gonord , pour intégrer l’écriture “Métamorphose” au dessin de Dan Hillier.Et je dois dire que le binôme est parfait non?

Vous n’avez pas idée du nombre de réunions et de nuits blanches que nous avons dû tous faire , pour arriver à ce résultat. A ce propos je remercie chaleureusement tous les artistes qui m’ont apporté leur aide...
En premier lieu : Matteo De Longis, Jean Luc Deglin, Guillaume Bianco , Anna Merli, Joshua Middleton e Ausonia .
