So, today I decided to do a true, official introduction about the first one: END
END is a series on which I’ve been working for more than 5 years, and it’s maybe the longest and most complicated project of all my life.
More than "Sky Doll", since the subject is far more complex, difficult and autobiographic.
This time, the concept, the story and the script are completely of the undersigned, Barbara Canepa.
In short, this should be the project of my maturity, I hope… Even if it won’t be the last, for sure.
Moreover, END will be part of a Collection called Métamorphose, where I am editor collection with Clotilde Vu, under Soleil Editions.
And soon I’ll introduce the upcoming projects it features, and also the official logo, just finished, made on commission by Dan Hillier.
* Ho parlato già più volte dei miei progetti futuri, ma mai veramente nel modo in cui meritano.
E ho deciso di fare una vera a propria presentazione ufficiale oggi del primo : END
END è una serie a cui sto' lavorando da più di 5 anni ed è forse il progetto più lungo e complicato della mia vita.
Più di "Sky Doll", visto che l'argomento è ben più complesso, difficile e autobiografico.
L'idea , la storia e la sceneggiatura questa volta è realizzata solo dalla sottoscritta Barbara Canepa.
Insomma, dovrebbe essere il mio progetto della maturità, spero...Anche se non sarà certo l'ultimo.
END ,inoltre, farà parte di una Collezione che io dirigo insieme a Clotilde Vu alle Edizioni Soleil che si chiama Métamorphose.
E presto vi annuncero' i prossimi progetti della stessa e anche il logo ufficiale appena terminato su commissione da Dan Hillier.
* J'ai souvent parlé de mes futurs projets , mais jamais vraiment de la maniere dont dont ils le méritaient.
C’est pour cette raison que j’ai aujourd’hui décidé de faire une vraie présentation officielle du premier d’entre eux : END.
END est une série à laquelle je travaille depuis plus de 5 ans , et c'est peut-être , le projet plus long et le plus compliqué de toute ma vie. Bien plus que "Sky Doll", vu la thématique plus complexe, difficile etautobiographique, surtout.
L' idée, l'histoire et le scénario sont , cette fois-ci, entièrement réalisés par moi, Barbara Canepa .
En somme, END devrait être “mon projet de la maturité”, enfin , je l'espère… En tout cas , ce ne sera pas le dernier.
Par ailleurs , END fait parti d'une collection que je dirige au cotés de Clotilde Vu , aux Éditions Soleil , qui et qui s'appelle Métamorphose.
Je vous annoncerai ici-même très vite les autres projets du même catalogue , et vous montrerai le logo officiel que nous avons commandé à Dan Hillier , un grand illustrateur américain...

There it stayed, dozing off, sometimes screaming in order to get noticed, and progressing… “growing up” and gaining self-awareness.
So, here is the first page… The beginning and… the end.
In fact, this page depicts the whole universe I created and that is going to be itself the meaning of the series.
In the beginning it was born with Alessandro Barbucci (yes, it was him who put the soul inside the first Elisabeth, the main character); today the graphic godmother is, along with me, Anna Merli.
A true ex-Disney hidden talent. She, and only she, was capable to overtake those invisible, thin barriers of the real theme of this project, which is death.
END is not a gothic project, nor fantasy… These “classifications” don’t suit me.
It’s an antique, Victorian genre … It comes from the past, the decadent, the Art Nouveau.
And it hasn’t been easy to bare myself concerning the ancestral fears I have about death, what we are, the worthlessness of the human being, my innate and desperate love towards a nature that is disappearing. They’re all subjects most people don’t want to think about, and subsequently they close their “third eye”, the one which opens directly into the conscience.
So here us the first page… The beginning and… the end.
In fact, in this page there’s all the universe I created and that is going to be itself the meaning of the series.
In this case, both drawing and color are by Barbara Canepa (me) and Anna Merli, absolutely blended... ^__^
* La storia di END è stata nel mio cassetto per ben 11 anni.
A sonnecchiare, a urlare ogni tanto per farsi sentire e a progredire... A diventare "grande" e prendere coscienza di se.
Ecco quindi la prima pagina..L'inizio e ... la fine.
nfatti in questa tavola c'è tutto l'universo che ho creato e che sarà è il significato stesso della serie.
Inizialmente nato con Alessandro Barbucci (eh, si è stato lui a dare l'anima alla prima Elisabeth, la protagonista ) oggi, si trova come madrina grafica con me : Anna Merli.
Un vero talento nascosto ex Disney.Lei e solo lei è stata capace di superare quelle barriere invisibili , sottili della vera tematica di questo progetto che è la morte.
END non è un progetto gotico e neanche è un fantastico...Non mi ritrovo in queste "classificazioni".
E' un genere antico, vittoriano..Del passato.Decandente..Art Nouveau.
E non è stato facile mettermi a nudo sulle paure ancestrali che ho sulla morte, su quello che siamo, alla inutilità dell'essere umano, al mio innato e disperato amore verso una natura che stà scomparendo.
Tutti argomenti alla quale la maggior parte della gente non vuole pensare e chiude il suo "terzo occhio", quello aperto direttamente alla coscienza.
Ecco quindi la prima pagina..L'inizio e ... la fine.

* L'histoire de END est restée dans un tiroir pendant 11 longues années.
Sommeillant et à hurlant de temps en autre pour se faire entendre à mes oreilles , afin que je l’aide à grandir.… Pour qu’il devienne mature .
Initialement né avec Alessandro Barbucci (eh oui , c’est bien Alessandro qui , le premier a donné corps a Elisabeth , la protagoniste principale) , aujourd'hui , c’est Anna Merli qui est , avec moi , sa marraine graphique.
Anna est un vrai ex-talent caché Disney. Elle seule a été capable de dépasser ces barrières invisibiles et subtiles de la vraie thématique du projet qu’ est la mort.
END, n'est ni un projet gothique , ni fantastique… Je ne me suis jamais retrouvé dans ces "classifications" à vrai dire.
C'est plutôt un genre ancien, victorien.Qui prend ses racines dans le passé. Décadent. Art Nouveau...
Cela n’a pas été facile de me mettre à nue , d’affronter ces peurs ancestrales sur la mort; sur ce que nous sommes, sur l'inutilité de l'être humain; sur cet amour de nos vies , inapte et désespéré dont la nature même est de disparaître.
Toutes ces thématiques auxquelles la plupart des gens ne veut penser , préférant clore leur troisième oeil" ,celui–là même qui conduit directement à la conscience.
Voilà donc la première PAGE de l'histoire qui a nécessité de longs efforts....
Il y a tout ici : le debut, et la fin.
En effet , cette planche est le contenu de l'univers que j'ai créé et qui représente un condensé de la la série elle-même.
Dessins et couleurs sont ici , de Barbara Canepa (moi) et d’Anna Merli, absolument nous deux en totale fusion… ^__^

It will be a real photo! Larger than 10 cm, on a thick paperboard and realized like a true vintage photo. A true Victorian "ambrotype".
Here you can take a look to both sides, in fact.
The concept, the graphic design and the realization are all by me. It’s made of a true assemblage of old photos from my collection and with a lot of patience with Photoshop... What an effort! °___°
Also for this reason I’d like to thank Soleil for their trust and economic commitment, since it won’t be a plain print inside the book, as many are doing, but a true photo to collect.
But, above all, it will be one of the first pieces of Elisabeth’s mystery puzzle.
I hope all this has been interesting for you.

* Questa è la foto che ci sarà nel libro.
Sarà contenuta in una grande busta nera e sarà uno dei regali al pubblico.
Sarà una foto vera,eh? Grande più di 10 cm, su cartoncino spesso e realizzata come una vera foto d'epoca.
Un vero "ambrotype" vittoriano.
Qui potete ammirare i due lati, infatti.
La realizzazione del concept e della grafica è tutta della sottoscritta.E' un vero e proprio assemblaggio di antiche foto della mia collezione e tanta pazienza con Photoshop....Che fatica! °___°
Anche per questo ringrazio Soleil per la fiducia e lo sforzo economico, dato che non sarà una semplice stampa dentro il libro,come stanno facendo in molti, ma una vera foto da collezionare.
Ma soprattutto sarà uno dei primi pezzi del puzzle mistero di Elisabeth.
Spero che tutto cio' sia stato interessante per voi.

Da oggi sino a che il progetto verrà alla luce su carta.E sarà a breve..
* Voici la photo qui se trouvera dans le livre.
Elle sera contenue dans une grande enveloppe noire et sera un des cadeaux pour les lecteurs .
Ce sera une vraie photo! D’un peu plus de 10 cm, sur carton epais et réalisée façon photo d'époque. Un véritable " ambrotype" victorien.

J’ai moi-même réalisé le concept et de la maquette . C'est en fait un véritable assemblage d'anciennes photos de ma collection ,et de beaucoup de patience avec Photoshop….Que de fatigue ! °___°
Même pour tout ça, je remercie Soleil pour leur entière confiance , ainsi que pour leur effort économique, vu que cette photo ne sera pas une simple impression dans le livre, (comme font beaucoup), mais bien une réelle photo de collectionneur.
Mais surtout...Elle représentera l’une des premières pièces du puzzle concernant le mystère qui entoure Elisabeth.
J'espère que tout ceci suscitera votre intéret.
À partir d’aujourd'hui , je vous raconterai progressivement tout de END, jusqu'à à que le projet vienne à la lumière du jour , sur du papier. Cela va vite arriver.
Et voilà.C’était ma toute première présentation de moi et de END.
