Lacrima Christi Collection !!!

* I apologize for the delay, but I’ve been in Copenhagen for a Festival... and I’ve had no time to post anything.
However, a holiday once in a while doesn’t hurt, for sure! ^__^
But here I am again, introducing my second collective book about SKY DOLL, which will come out in October: LACRIMA CHRISTI COLLECTION.
* I’d like to show you a real "step by step" about howAlessandro Barbucci and I go along. From the concept to the realization of a cover.

* Scusate il ritardo, ma sono stata a Copenhague per un Festival..
E non ho avuto più tempo per postare nulla.
E comunque una vacanza ogni tanto, non fa di certo male.. ^__^
Ma eccomi di nuovo qui per il mio secondo libro collettivo di SKY DOLL che uscirà a ottobre : LACRIMA CHRISTI COLLECTION.
* Volevo mostrarvi un vero "step by step" di come procediamo io e Alessandro Barbucci. Dal concetto alla realizzazione di una cover .





* The first sketch, by Alessandro, was born from an idea of mine a bit silly and absolutely copied (oh yes, as the whole world, of course!) from a beautiful album by Blonde Redhead, which I adore.
The topic of this second book is religion, baroque and the two female Popes, absolutely contrasting with each other, both graphically and as characters.
And what struck me about this booklet/CD were its simplicity and its color...
And from that point on, all the other original ideas take over, of course.

* Il primo rough, di Alessandro,nato da una mia idea molto scema e assolutamente copiata (eh si, come tutto il mondo ovvio!) da un album bellissimo che adoro delle Blonde RedHead .
La tematica di questo secondo libro è la religione , il barocco e le due Papesse, assolutamente in contrasto tra loro, sia graficamente che come characters.
E la cosa che mi aveva colpito su questa pochet/Cd era la semplicità e il colore...E da li poi, subentrano tutte le altre idee, ovvio.

* Alessandro, in order to exalt this feminine duo, so strong and different, found the idea of the playing cards very interesting…. And why not? A bit à la “Alice in Wonderland”.
But he himself realized that it was a pity that the two female Popes were deprived of the entirety of their bodies, since the two figures cut across each other in half and in a poorly dynamic way. And also uninterestingly, in fact.
In the meantime, we both also began to think about the decorations we could then add as design, together with Matteo De Longis . This time I was inflexible about the fifth color for the baroque theme: that is gold.

* Alessandro, per esaltare questo duo femminile molto forte e differente, trovava l' idea delle carte da gioco molto interessante...E perchè no? Un po' alla "Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie".
Ma lui stesso si rese conto che era un peccato che le due Papesse venissero private della totalità dei loro corpi, dato che le due masse si intersecavano a metà e in modo poco dinamico.E neanche interessante, infatti.
Intanto cominciavamo anche a ragionare entrambi sui decori che potevamo poi aggiungere come design, con Matteo De Longis .Dato che mi ero impuntata , stavolta, sul quinto colore per la tematica barocca : cioé l'oro.

* Eventually, Alessandro opted for a different compositional idea… Moreover, the bond between the two women is really like a chain, being two sisters. Now, the cover worked under all aspects.
In this case, the colors of the image served to us just to understand how the exact distribution of the various graphic components would be, and to figure out the masses.
For instance, I had some doubts about the wings because they complicated the reading and the layout.
And as you will see, I was right (as usual! He!He!He!) and we decided to remove them. >:pp

* Alla fine , Alessandro, ha optato su una idea compositiva differente...Inoltre il legame tra le due donne è davvero come una catena, essendo due sorelle.La cover ora funzionava in tutti i suoi aspetti.
In questo caso , i colori su questa immagine , servivano solo per capire tra di noi, come sarebbe stata la divisione esatta dei vari componenti grafici e per comprendere le masse.
Io, ad esempio, avevo dei dubbi sulle ali perché complicavano la lettura e la composizione.
E come vedrete avevo ragione ( come sempre ! eh!eh!eh! ) e le abbiamo eliminate. >:pp

* In order to obtain this definitive layout of the cover a real argument between Alessandro and me took place! he!he!he!
Because I preferred Lodovica to be half-face, and I imagined Agape more dreamy and naïve.
And in the end, I think that the definitive work speaks for itself: it’s a lot better, isn’t it?

* Per ottenere questo layout definitivo della cover c'è stato un vero diverbio tra me e Alessandro ! eh!eh!eh!
Perchè a me piaceva più Lodovica di profilo e Agape la vedevo più sognante e ingenua.
E alla fine, credo che il definitivo parli da solo : molto meglio, no?

* We had to change the logo, though keeping the idea already exploited in the first book "Sky Doll Space Ship" : the cross. Thus, the great Matteo De Longis transformed it in a beautiful baroque cross. Beautiful, isn’t it?

* Dovevamo cambiare il logo, ma mantenere assolutamente l'idea già sfruttata del primo libro "Sky Doll Space Ship" : la croce. E cosi, il grande Matteo De Longis l'ha trasformata in una bella croce barocca. Bella, no?

* And here is the semi-cover, finished with my intervention. It still lacks some details and color. And many things are yet to be decided. But, all in all, this could be the one… What you now see in brown will be in shiny gold! So chic!!!
It lacks the festoons… I don’t know whether to add them. I’ll think about it...
Concerning color, I’d like to keep it simple and flat, but I know myself and I’m sure that this won’t be the definitive version! >:ppp

* Ed ecco la semicover finita col mio intervento. Mancano ancora dettagli e colore.E tante cose da decidere,ma insomma potrebbe essere questa... Quello che vedete in marrone, sarà in oro brillante ! Una vera sciccheria !!! ^__^
Mancano i festoni...Non so' se aggiungerli.Vedro'...
Per il colore volevo stare molto semplice e piatta, ma mi conosco e so' che non sarà la versione definitiva! >:ppp

* And here is a beautiful particular of Agape. Just to show you how much I’m crazy (let’s say maniac?) about details…

* E qui un bel particolare di Agape.Per osservare anche quanto sono pazza ( diciamo maniaca?) per i dettagli.. °___°
